Singing Praises in the Pool

 

I went to watch the kids at swim lessons today, and caught Hadley in the middle of singing the Hallelujah Chorus.  I don't even know where she learned this song, but she was really feeling it today.

Tonight, for FHE, we drove up American Fork canyon for dinner and smore's (and Starbursts and waffle cones packed full of goodies) with the Reich's.

 

We just never have enough to eat when we get together with them.  : )

Lazy Girls' Duck Duck Goose

Forest Lake

The Allen's invited us and the Larsons to ride their Razors up the canyon with them tonight.  We left from Tibble Fork Reservoir and drove about an hour up a very steep and rocky (and beautiful)mountain trail to Forest Lake where we enjoyed a good dinner and great company.  We also enjoyed a few trips around the lake, over the jump and through the air (really, we caught some pretty good air!)

By the time we left, the sun was setting, and after taking a detour to see the view of Midway from the top of the mountain, we drove home in the dark. 

 

I thought it might be scary in the dark.

 

It wasn't.

 

It was awesome.

Pioneer Day 2014

We spent the morning hiking to, rappelling from and getting soaked in Battle Creek Falls with Steve and Sharon and their kids.  Afterwards, we met Neil and Merlene at our house for lunch and then headed to Seven Peaks that evening. 

 

A really fun family day. 

 

 

  

I asked Hadley to put on some shoes that would be good for hiking.  She declined and instead insisted that these brown shoes would be perfect because "they match the dirt." 

 

Turns out she was right.  Her shoes really did match her filthy legs.

I was released from my calling as Young Women's First Counselor last week.  Tonight, the young women brought me cupcakes and plastered my door with sweet notes. 

I am already missing these cute girls.
