Don't Let Him In The Back Door

Tonight, for family home evening, we were discussing ways that we can protect our family from the influence of the Adversary.  We were talking about how he tries to sneak into our home and family (i.e. through television, music, the internet, contention, idleness, etc.) and how we need to be ever vigilant in our efforts to keep him out.

Cameron told the kids to imagine that they owned a castle and to think of all the measures they would take to protect that castle from their enemy.  He then said, "Wouldn't it be terrible if, after all your efforts, someone in your own family opened the back door and just let him in?"  He explained that each one of us has a responsibility to the rest to protect our home and family.  At this point, Hayden had a light-bulb moment and proclaimed, "That should be our family motto!  Don't let him in the back door!"

His sign is now hanging on our fridge as a reminder:

Don't let him in the back door.
